983 FNUS75 KTFX 181000 FWSTFX Spot Forecast for Jericho Creek Fire...USFS National Weather Service Great Falls MT 400 AM MDT Mon May 18 2026 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0600 MDT on May 18. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... One final day of well below normal temperatures is expected across the incident area as cool, northwest flow remains in place in wake of the departing disturbance. Upper level ridging over the Eastern Pacific will begin to amplify through the remainder of the week, which will allow temperatures to moderate to near normal across the Northern Rockies despite persistent northwest flow aloft. Daily chances for showers, and occasional thunderstorms, will exist throughout the work week, with the best opportunity for wetting precipitation arriving Wednesday morning through Thursday morning. At this time the potential for 0.1" or greater of precipitation over this timeframe is a 70% chance, with a 55% chance for 0.25" and a 35% chance for 0.5". .TODAY... Light to moderate rain showers ongoing through 7-8 AM this morning, with additional accumulations on the order of 0.05-0.2" before it ends this morning. After the rain clears out this morning, winds will be light and variable in the morning becoming northeasterly to east- northeasterly in the afternoo while remaining light. Min RH drops to around 80% today. Winds increase significantly out of the northeast this evening and overnight at 7-11 mph with gusts of 15-20 mph. Rain and thunderstorm chances return this evening into early Tuesday morning. Latest model guidance keeps the heaviest rain and thunderstorms southeast of the fire area, with around half an inch of rainfall this evening through early Tuesday, though locally higher amounts cannot be ruled out if any thunderstorms move over the fire area. Tuesday, winds weaken as rainfall ends and turn to the northwest by mid morning. Winds from late Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon will be 5-7 mph with gusts to around 15 mph. Daytime Tuesday may have some widely scattered light rain showers, but little to no additional rain accumulations are expected. Min RH Tuesday afternoon decreases to around 50-55%. .TODAY...
