If conditions become unrepresentative, or if you have questions or concerns about this forecast, contact the National Weather Service in Newport at (252)223-2328. .DISCUSSION... Some patchy fog is possible around the burn site this morning which could reduce visibility for any vehicles or personnel traveling near the area. Any patchy fog is forecast to dissipate by 8AM this morning. Afterwards, the main show will be the approaching backdoor cold front that will be moving across the region later this morning between 10-11AM. This front will bring a wind shift with it as westerly winds gradually shift to a northwest and then northeast direction behind the front. This front will also bring increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms later this morning and afternoon. The strongest storms would bring the potential for gusty and erratic winds (40-60 mph), heavy rain, and frequent lightning. The front washes out tonight bringing a return to S'ry flow to the area by daybreak on Thursday. We return back to a more typical summertime pattern with isolated to widely scattered afternoon showers/storms along seabreeze Thursday. It will remain hot and humid across the area into this weekend with highs getting into the upper 80s to mid 90s each day. .TODAY... Sky/weather.........Partly sunny.
