Light and variable winds this morning should transition to east- northeast after noon. There is a 50 percent chance of a thunderstorm over the fire this afternoon, with chances starting after 1300. Any thunderstorms that form nearby will be capable of erratic wind gusts up to 35 mph for short periods of time, and frequent lightning. On the plus side they could also provide a wetting rain. Thunderstorm chances drop under 20 percent after 8 PM. Expect one or more wind shifts on the fire this afternoon even without any thunderstorms on top of the fire, and odds are the gust front will be from the northeast due to expected convection well north and northeast of the fire. While cooler and more moist behind any gustfront, these gustfronts could also result in a shift to gusty winds up to 30-35 mph for an hour or more. RH recovery tonight will be good, reaching 75 percent. Winds are expected to be light and variable all night long. On Thursday more of the same, with about a 50 percent chance of an afternoon thunderstorm on the fire, again with potential for winds gusting to 35 mph frequent lightning, and hopefully a wetting rain. .REST OF TODAY...
