772 FNUS75 KSLC 100110 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for Twenty Two...NWS National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 710 PM MDT Thu Jul 9 2026 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 2000 MDT on July 09. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...At 1900, an area of showers and thunderstorms are noted about 25 miles west of the fire area and continue to track eastward. Current ETA of these showers over the fire is around 2000-2030. While the main core of the storm looks to remain north, you cannot rule out a stray lightning strike around this time period. In addition to lightning, gusty outflow winds (first from the west, then to the east) will be possible as this storm passes overhead. The threat for showers/ thunderstorms will dissipate after about 2100-2200, with chances remaining near 0 for the remainder of the evening and through the day on Friday. Stable conditions will arrive this evening, favoring gentle slope driven flows overnight. Only moderate humidity recovery is expected through the overnight period. Hotter and drier conditions are expected over the fire on Friday, with highs in the lower elevations topping out around 100 degrees alongside humidity in the upper-single digits. Winds will be generally light and terrain driven in the morning hours, transitioning to a southwest wind during the afternoon hours. IF slope flows prevail during the afternoon, anticipate occasional wind gusts around 15 mph from the southwest. Otherwise, largely clear skies will provide minimal shading on fuels throughout the day. .REST OF TONIGHT... Sky/weather.........Partly cloudy (30-40 percent cloud cover).
