Winds this morning will start off out of the W to SW, generally around 6 to 12 mph. A cold front is expected to sweep through the area through the afternoon, bringing gusty winds, a few isolated and light shower, and turning winds NW. Winds along and behind the front will be sustained around 10 to 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph by the 5pm. Winds west of Slopper Floyd Lake Rd will be stronger than those over to about half way up the ridgeline. Upslope winds near the ridgeline will also be higher, with sustained winds of 14 to 19 mph and gusts to 30mph. Wind gusts over 20mph can be expected through Saturday, and winds will progressively turn out of the N through Friday night. Precipitation will be minimal, though a few isolated light showers may be possible with the main frontal passage around mid afternoon. No significant accumulations are expected and moisture will remain unremarkable today. Minimum RH values are expected to remain above 45 percent, with the lowest values in the afternoon, before rising Friday night and falling again Saturday. RH values on Saturday have the potential to drop further than indicated in the timeline below, due to gusty winds and clearer skies. I would not be surprised if RH values dropped into the 30 percents on Saturday. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Sunny (10-20 percent). CWR.................20 percent.
