These dangerous heat index values will continue through early evening before temperatures begin to slowly cool. Limited severe potential along with a heavy rain threat exist Friday into the weekend. The majority of the shower and storm chances begin to move out of the region early next week. However, a slight chance of storms remains into the middle part next week ahead of a ridge of high pressure building over western and central United States.
