The tornado impacted locations near baseball fields on the south side of Highway 75. Damage to bleachers, signage, and the dugout occurred, and across the highway there was damage to grain bins and a large tree landed on a home. The tornado continued northeast and did minor damage to a large water tank and additional tree damage along D Avenue. ..Ashland Tornado... It then progressed east northeast to the Sandy Pointe lake area where it threw a dock approximately 100 yards, removed shingles from one house, and removed much of a roof from another house, throwing it approximately 80 yards away into the lake. Video suggests that the tornado ended to the northeast, with no damage to any vegetation along the Platte River. ..South Plattsmouth Tornado... The tornado moved northeast and snapped several pine trees on the top of a small incline that had a house and several grain bins. One empty grain bin was destroyed. A late-season winter storm impacted central and southern Wyoming the night of May 17th through the day of May 18th. The heaviest snow fell between about 2am and 10am MDT. The largest totals were for upslope favored locations like the Lander Foothills, southern Casper and Casper Mountain, as well for locations between South Pass and Jeffrey City and south into eastern Sweetwater County, especially for Interstate 80 east of Rock Springs. Totals of 8 inches or more were seen in the mentioned locations, with around a foot of snow over South Pass and around 20 inches on Casper Mountain. Reports for Sinks Canyon Park near Lander were near 12 inches, with around 19 inches at the top of the switchbacks. Listed below are snowfall reports from this event.
