High temperatures in the 60s and low 70s were observed all over the state amid mostly clear skies in the west and cloudy skies in the east. Northerly winds were noted as well, which kept daytime temperatures cooler than normal. Low temperatures tonight will dip into the low 40s and upper 30s across the northwest three-quarters of the state, while the southeast corner will see lows in the 50s due to abundant cloud cover. Light showers and perhaps a few rumbles of thunder will be possible across southeast Kansas through the night as well, while light rain chances return to far northwest Kansas. Temperatures will remain cooler than normal for Wednesday with many parts of the state seeing afternoon highs in the 60s. Temperatures will dip into the mid and upper 50s across far Northwestern Pennsylvania in the wake of a strong cold front. The cold front will bring showers and scattered storms late tonight across Northwestern Pennsylvania, then primarily over the Southeastern half of the state on Wednesday. Some of the storms could be severe in the afternoon and early evening hour Wednesday across the Southeastern Half of the state. Highs Wednesday will vary from the upper 50s across the higher terrain just inland from Lake Erie, to the low 90s in the Lehigh and Lower Delaware Valleys. Cooler, more seasonable conditions will follow for the end of the week and into Memorial Day weekend. $$
