Deepening Southeasterly flow will likely transport a thicker layer of clouds northward across the Susquehanna Valley and points east for the late morning and afternoon hours. The approach of a cold front from the Ohio Valley later today will provide the focus for one or more areas of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could reach strong to severe thresholds with gusty winds, frequent lightning and brief heavy rain. High temperatures this afternoon will range from the mid 70s over the higher terrain to near 80 across the lowlands of Western PA. The late afternoon and evening storms will gradually weaken as they push through Central PA and the Middle Susquehanna Valley overnight. Lows early Sunday morning will vary from the low to mid 50s over the Northwest Mountains to the mid and upper 60s in Southeastern PA. Another round or two of showers and thunderstorms is expected on Sunday as notably colder air aloft and stronger wind shear moves over the region. Next week will start off mainly dry and seasonably cool in the wake of this weekend's daily rounds of showers and storms, with highs mainly in the 70s and lower 80s. $$ 190 AWUS83 KBIS 220948 RWSBIS NDZ001>005-009-010-012-013-017>020-022-023-025-031>033-035>037- 040>044-046>048-050-051-055>062-221800- North Dakota State Weather Summary National Weather Service Bismarck ND 448 AM CDT Sat Aug 22 2026 /348 AM MDT Sat Aug 22 2026/ Today will be a pleasant day, with highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s.
