...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of west central Bonner

and central Pend Oreille Counties through 545 AM PDT...



At 513 AM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 19

miles northeast of Chewelah, or 26 miles northwest of Priest River,

moving northeast at 50 mph.



HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Ruby and Browns Lake Campground.



This includes U.S. Highway 20 in Washington between mile markers 400

and 417.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.

...Locally Dense Fog this Morning...



Locally dense fog has developed overnight across portions of the

Central and North Central Montana plains, most notably along the

US Hwy 2 corridor. Visibilities across these areas have fallen to

under a mile, with a few spots seeing visibility as low as a 

quarter of a mile. 



If you will be traveling this morning before 8am, be prepared for

reduced visibility, and ensure your headlights are on so you are 

more visible to others on the roads.

northwestern Bonner Counties through 615 AM PDT...



At 550 AM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

Nordman, or 25 miles west of Bonners Ferry, moving northeast at 50

mph.



HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is 

         possible.
