Valid 232256Z - 240030Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 619 continues. SUMMARY...Severe wind gusts and hail remain possible with strong to severe storms across UT/ID and far western WY this evening. DISCUSSION...Across WW 619, a band of strong to severe storms have matured across eastern ID with more isolated strong storms ongoing over northwest UT late this afternoon. A modestly moist, hot and moderately unstable air mas remains in place ahead of these storms which should continue to support them over the next several hours. Steep low-level lapse rates will primarily favor severe wind gusts, but enhanced mid-level flow at the base of the northern Rockies upper trough is supporting some cellular structures. Hail is possible, especially with any persistent supercells. Expectations are for convection to gradually spread northeastward across UT and far southwestern WY into this evening. Some clustering is possible, based on recent CAM solutions. This appears most likely over northern UT into southwest WY. This could support a localized corridor of more concentrated severe wind gusts later this evening. Given the ongoing storms and a generally favorable environment, the severe risk continues for much of WW619. ..Lyons.. 08/23/2026 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product...
