The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Nearshore and Open waters from Willowick OH to Conneaut OH...



* Until 530 AM EDT.



* At 332 AM EDT, strong thunderstorms capable of producing 

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from 29 nm 

  northwest of Geneva-On-The-Lake to 18 nm northwest of Fairport 

  Harbor to 14 nm northeast of Avon Point, moving northeast at 20 

  knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small 

           hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Geneva-On-The-Lake, Willowick, Fairport Harbor, Ashtabula, and

  Conneaut.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.



Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded

metal objects.

  Sound, moving east at 5 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Marine observation. This thunderstorm has a history of 

           producing wind gusts up to 35 knots over the middle of 

           Pamlico Sound.



  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

           suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Pamlico Sound.
