...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT
FOR EASTERN POLK AND NORTHWESTERN JASPER COUNTIES...

At 759 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Altoona, moving
northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Des Moines, Ankeny, Johnston, Altoona, Pleasant Hill, Bondurant,
Saylorville, Mitchellville, Colfax, Prairie Meadows, Iowa State
Fairgrounds, Adventureland Amusement Park, Mingo, Valeria,
Weh-Weh-Neh-Kee State Park, Margo Frankel Woods State Park, and
Ankeny Regional Airport.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 35 between mile markers 87 and 93.
 Interstate 80 between mile markers 134 and 158.
 Interstate 235 between mile markers 10 and 14.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central Iowa.

building.

Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread
significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately
