Scattered showers and thunderstorms with wetting rainfall will occur again today around the high terrain and parts of eastern NM. Storm motions will be slow toward the south and east. Storms over western NM will be drier with strong wind gusts and little to no rainfall. Even drier west to northwest winds will spread across northwest NM Thursday and Friday with several hours of single digit humidity. A few hours of near critical fire weather will occur around the Four Corners region. Storms with wetting rainfall are still possible for northeast NM and the southern high terrain Thursday and Friday. Moisture will surge west toward the central mountain chain Saturday then even farther west toward the AZ border by Sunday. This moisture will allow storm coverage to increase each day this weekend. A rich tap of monsoon moisture will attempt to slide into the region next week with locally heavy rainfall possible for southern and western NM. ................................................................
