Near critical fire weather is expected around the Four Corners today with very low humidity and breezy northwest winds. A few dry lightning strikes that occurred in the Four Corners Wednesday evening may lead to new fire starts. Any showers that manage to develop in central NM today and Friday will be mostly dry with strong outflow winds. The greater chances for wetting rainfall will be with storms over northeast NM today and Friday. These storms will force a moist outflow boundary westward to the central chain Saturday. There will be more storms with wetting rainfall along and east of the central mountain chain Saturday. The risk of burn scar flooding will increase with locally heavy rainfall possible. Storm chances may become more focused over southern and western NM Sunday through Wednesday of next week. ................................................................
