DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SOUTHWEST, CENTRAL 
AND EASTERN NEW MEXICO...

.DISCUSSION...
Strengthening southwesterly to westerly winds alongside very low
humidity will create widespread critical fire weather conditions
across the southeastern half to two-thirds of NM today. Extremely
critical conditions will exist over portions of northeastern and
east-central NM where the strongest gusts of 55 to 60 mph coincide
with 6 to 11 hours of single-digit humidity. Winds subside quickly
this evening with the exception of a sudden northerly to 
northeasterly wind shift following a cold front advancing southward 
through eastern NM tonight into Tuesday morning. Timing of this wind 
shift will be a main concern for ongoing suppression activities 
through eastern NM. These northeasterly winds subside thru Tuesday 
morning with improved recoveries. Elevated fire weather conditions 
remain each day thru the week for western NM, with localized 
critical conditions in the middle Rio Grande Valley Tuesday 
afternoon. The eastern plains will see higher moisture, better 
recoveries and chances for afternoon shower and thunderstorm activity
Wednesday and Thursday before drier westerlies return Friday.
