EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE MIDDLE 
RIO GRANDE VALLEY...

.DISCUSSION...
A cold front is bringing cooler temperatures and higher humidity
alongside gusty northeasterly to easterly winds to eastern NM, and 
is expected to push thru the gaps of the central mountain chain into
Santa Fe and Albuquerque this morning. These winds will veer 
southeasterly across eastern NM as dry southwesterly winds mix back 
into the Rio Grande Valley and adjacent central highlands. These 
stronger southwesterlies will combine with single-digit humidity to 
produce another round of critical fire weather in the middle Rio 
Grande Valley and portions of the adjacent south-central highlands 
this afternoon and early evening. Cooler temperatures and higher 
humidity advances back west into parts of the Rio Grande Valley each 
morning thru Thursday, with a similar elevated to critical fire 
weather set up Wednesday afternoon in the Rio Grande Valley. The 
eastern plains see daily rounds of afternoon thunderstorm activity, 
although there is considerable uncertainty regarding the coverage of 
thunderstorms each day through Thursday. Friday sees dry conditions 
with lighter winds. Increased moisture and daily rounds of afternoon 
thunderstorm activity favored Saturday into early next week.
