...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN CUMBERLAND...
NORTHEASTERN PRINCE EDWARD...NORTHWESTERN NOTTOWAY AND WEST CENTRAL
AMELIA COUNTIES THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 609 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Rice, or near Longwood University, moving east at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and frequent 
         lightning.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding 
         possible. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes.

Locations impacted include...
Farmville, Burkeville, Rice, Guinea Mills, Raines Tavern, Angola,
Rodophil, Moran, Hawk, Paineville, Reeds, Stoddert, and Deatonville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
