Chances for showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast Sunday into Sunday night. Some of the thunderstorms may contain strong wind gusts. Humidity values will be elevated over most locations. On Monday a front moves over the area from west to east, with winds shifting westerly. Although this front may stall out over central North Dakota, winds along and behind the front are expected to become gusty, with gusts of 25 to 35 mph. Drier air will also be ushered in behind the front, with minimum humidity values dipping into the 20s over much of southwest North Dakota, mid 20s to mid 30s over the northwest. This would result in near- critical fire weather conditions, mainly over far western North Dakota. Tuesday is expected to be windy, with gusts to 35 mph, though the strongest winds are expected to be along, north, and east of the Missouri River, while the lowest humidity values are expected to remain over far southwest North Dakota.
