Breezy southeast winds will persist over the eastern plains/ridges through about 10Z thanks to a persistent low level jet. Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers will drift eastward over the plains into the early morning hours before diminishing to sprinkles late. A frontal passage from the west is anticipated today with a push of wind and triggering isold/sct thunderstorms, tracking across in the afternoon and evening. Fire weather conditions will thus be elevated, especially for districts west of Yellowstone County, with RH readings dropping as low as 18-25 percent for most locations. Stronger cells will produce strong winds possibly as high as 55-65 mph. Brief heavy rain is also possible.
