...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING
FOR BERKELEY, CHARLESTON AND DORCHESTER COUNTIES...

At 835 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with torrential
rainfall extending from Ridgeville to Delemar Crossroads. This
activity will push into the North Charleston area through 9 PM. A
quick 1 to 2 inches of additional rainfall could occur with this
activity. Emergency management officials report flood conditions have
improved greatly since earlier this evening. However, any additional
rainfall could result in renewed flash flooding.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  North Charleston, Summerville, Goose Creek, Hanahan, I-26/I-526
  Interchange, Naval Weapons Station Charleston, Ladson, Daniel
  Island, Charleston Airport and Magnolia Gardens.

This includes the following highways...
I-26 between mile markers 206 and 214. I-526 between mile markers 18
and 21.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
