FNUS71 KCTP 180811 FWSCTP Spot Forecast for SGL 062 Bridge View...Game Commission National Weather Service State College PA 411 AM EDT Mon May 18 2026 Forecast is based on ignition time of 0700 EDT on May 18. If conditions become unrepresentative, or if you have questions or concerns with this forecast, contact the National Weather Service in State College. .DISCUSSION... Heat will be on the increase today and Tuesday, but only moderate increases in surface dewpoints and deep vertical mixing up to 6 or 7 thousand feet both afternoons will lead to Min RH values mainly in the low to mid 30s (%). Fairly warm temperatures in the mid levels of the atmosphere will put a lid on most of the convection (showers and thunderstorms) today and Tuesday. However, select areas of orographic forcing and the passage of a subtle upper level disturbance will help to form a few mid afternoon to early evening showers and thunderstorms across the Laurel Highlands and South-Central Mountains. A few of the thunderstorms later this afternoon could produce brief wind gusts of up to 45 mph. Rainfall accumulations should average below 0.10" (and most locations likely stay dry). A strong cold front will bring showers and scattered thunderstorms on Wednesday, some of which could be severe in the afternoon and early evening. Cooler, more seasonable conditions will follow for the end of the week and into Memorial Day weekend. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/Weather.........Sunny (15-25 percent). Max Temperature.....Around 88.
