...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM EDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHWESTERN BLAIR AND SOUTH CENTRAL CAMBRIA COUNTIES...

At 824 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in
Portage in Cambria County, and Altoona, Hollidaysburg and surrounding
townships in Blair County. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Altoona, Hollidaysburg, Portage, Lakemont, Cresson, Gallitzin,
  Duncansville, Salix-Beauty Line Park, Beaverdale-Lloydell, Lilly,
  Sankertown, St. Michael, Dunlo, Horseshoe Curve, Canoe Creek State
  Park, East Freedom, Spring Hill, Tunnelhill and Newry.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
