As low pressure organizes over the eastern Great Lakes region, a
large area of high pressure will set up over the Mid to Upper
Mississippi Valley. This will lead to beautiful late summer
weather locally with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s,
comfortable humidity, and overnight lows in the 50s!

Northwesterly flow aloft is forecast to continue through much
of the next week with some operational models showing a 
transition to more zonal flow across the CONUS to end the 
next week. Although there are numerous disturbances moving 
through the flow passing near the area, the next more 
widespread chance (20 to 30%) for showers and storms appears to 
be late Tuesday night through Wednesday when a stronger 
shortwave moves across the region. Any rainfall amounts will be 
light through the middle of next week. 

Monday is expected to be the coolest day of the period with
highs in the mid 70s to near 80 degrees. High temperatures the 
rest of the week are forecast to be in the lower to mid 80s. 
Tuesday night onward, low temperatures are forecast to be in 
the lower to mid 60s.

High pressure is forecast to bring quiet weather and VFR flight
categories through the period. High pressure is forecast to
shift overhead over the next 24 hours with winds around 5 knots
through the period. Diurnally driven cumulus is forecast to
develop after 15 UTC along with winds increasing to around 8
knots through the day.
