.KEY MESSAGES...

 - Mostly dry for North Georgia and low chances for thunderstorms
   (15-20%) across parts of Central Georgia through Tuesday.

 - Daily rain chances will be on the upswing by mid to late week
   as a frontal boundary approaches.

 - Seasonal temperatures are largely expected through the week
   ahead.

Calm weather is expected through the short term. Dry conditions 
behind a cold front will limit our thunderstorm chances to minimal, 
and contained to the southern parts of the CWA. Winds will be out of 
the NW at 5 to 10 mph with gusts as high as 15 mph. 

Drier weather is expected to expand further into the CWA tomorrow 
with RH values in the afternoon dropping down into the 35% range, 
making conditions feel downright lovely for this time of year. Light 
and variable winds are expected overnight before picking up to 5 to 
10 mph again under mostly clear skies.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday morning through next Saturday)

As the long term period begins, the axis of a longwave trough will 
be centered over the Atlantic coast, which will keep much of Georgia 
underneath northwesterly upper level flow. Meanwhile, surface high 
pressure will be sliding across the Midwest. The combination of 
these factors will keep weather conditions dry and benign across the 
majority of the forecast area for one more day on Tuesday. Low 
temperatures will start the morning in the low to mid 60s across 
north Georgia (and even some upper 50s in the highest elevations) 
and in the upper 60s and low 70s in central Georgia. Highs will 
climb into the low 90s in north Georgia and mid 90s in central 
Georgia on Tuesday afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms will be 
possible in portions of south-central Georgia during the peak 
heating hours, while dry air will keep chances minimal across the 
remainder of the forecast area.

Atmospheric moisture will gradually over during the middle part of 
the week, and weak disturbances traversing the northwesterly flow 
will provide opportunity for thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon 
and evening. On Thursday, another trough moving across the Great 
Lakes will advance a front towards far north Georgia. The front will 
gradually work its way southeast through the forecast area on 
Thursday into Friday. Forcing ahead of the front and increase 
moisture will lead to scattered to numerous thunderstorms during the 
later part of the week.

Winds will be NW at 5 to 10kts potentially gusting to 15kts. Skies
