A strong cold front, accompanied by strong winds, showers, and much cooler temperatures is expected to move through the region this afternoon and evening. Most of the precipitation will remain in our west and northwestern counties, though scattered showers are possible closer to DFW and Waco tonight into tomorrow morning. Expect a cool and windy Friday, with sustained winds 20-30 mph and gusts to 40-45 mph anticipated for much of the day. Afternoon humidity minimums will bottom out generally between 35-50% tomorrow, and combined with the winds may result in a very localized fire concern in portions of Central Texas, primarily in the Brazos Valley where ERCs are higher. Winds should diminish Friday night, with cool conditions expected through the weekend, before a warming trend back into the 80s occurs early next week. Lower winds and afternoon RH generally 30%+ will keep the fire threat low.
