Ahead of an approaching cold front, a moist and unstable air mass will linger through Tuesday morning, along with a threat of showers and thunderstorms. Strong to severe storms and heavy rainfall will be possible at times tonight, epecially late this evening through overnight. Once the cold front shifts through on Tuesday morning, southerly winds will become northwest and gust to 25 to 35 mph into Tuesday afternoon. A much drier air mass returns on Wednesday and Thursday. This will bring potential for frost or freeze conditions over northern WI late Tuesday night and late Wednesday night. Low relative humidity in the 25 to 35 percent range can be expected in the sandy soil areas on Wednesday and Thursday.
