A warming trend will bring drier conditions across the region, with minimum relative humidity percentages at 12 to 20 percent across the San Joaquin Valley and 5 and 15 percent for the Sierra Nevada and Mojave Desert today. A minor improvement in minimum humidity will occur Friday into the weekend. Stronger wind gusts of 40 mph in the Mojave Desert Slopes and Sierra Nevada crest will cause elevated fire weather conditions combined with the low RH values during today. In the late weekend, an influx of monsoonal moisture will bring showers and thunderstorms to the Sierra Nevada, with chances at 20 to 30 percent each day beginning Monday.
