Issued at 243 AM CDT Thu Jul 9 2026 Thursday through next Wednesday: Thursday through Friday: Sub-tropical ridging will remain over the region, continuing dangerous heat concerns for Thursday and Friday. Afternoon rainfall/convection will be possible along/east of I-55 Thursday then diminishing by Friday. A pattern change beginning Friday will bring rain chances through the rest of the extended forecast. Saturday through Wednesday: A potent upper-lvl ridge will build and traverse over the Northern Plains, resulting in downstream troughing over the Mid-MS Valley. The trough will slowly push a frontal boundary towards the southeast through the weekend and into next week. As the boundary progress towards the area, rain chances (70-85%) will be greatest on Sunday and Monday. Rain will stick around through mid-week as the boundary gradually moves over the area. With the ongoing rain potential, heat relief is expected as heat indices drop below 105 degrees. /SW/ && .AVIATION...
