Through 12 pm, isolated showers will develop across the extreme
southeast Gulf waters surrounding the Dry Tortugas, as well the
distant Straits from near Elbow Cay and westward. These showers will
move west northwest at 10 to 15 knots. The stronger activity will
attempt to develop into brief thunderstorms, especially across the
Straits of Florida. Mariners can expect brief blinding downpours,
wind gusts of 20 to 25 knots, and brief bouts of lightning.
