Through 5 pm, widely scattered showers will wax and wane across the 
distant Straits from near Elbow Cay and westward, and across the 
extreme southeastern Gulf waters. Additional showers will attempt to 
move in from the Old Bahama Channel. These showers will move west 
northwest at 15 to 20 knots. The stronger activity may briefly 
develop into isolated thunderstorms. Mariners can expect brief 
blinding downpours, wind gusts of 25 up to 30 knots, and brief bouts 
of lightning.
