Scattered thunderstorms are likely to move out of the Panhandle late this afternoon and evening and into the western Sandhills and southwest Nebraska. Some storms may be severe with damaging wind gusts the main concern though large hail will also be possible. A second area of thunderstorms appears possible across portions of central Nebraska this evening. How far west of Highway 183 this activity reaches remains uncertain, however, severe weather will be possible with this activity as well with damaging winds and heavy rain the main concerns. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. Scattered thunderstorms are likely in the late afternoon and evening Thursday, mainly for areas west of Highway 83. A few storms may be severe with damaging wind gusts the main concerns though large hail is also possible. Activity may persist late into the overnight Thursday into Friday, including the threat for severe, but confidence in this is limited at this time. Much warmer temperatures are expected early next week with consecutive days of afternoon highs in the upper 90s to low 100s forecast for Sunday through Wednesday.
