Fire weather concerns remain low through Friday with seasonable temperatures and humidity remaining well above critical levels. Concerns increase beginning Saturday but crescendo early next week as daytime highs climb to the upper 90s to low 100s with strong southerly winds. Gusts appear likely to exceed 25 mph each day Sunday through Tuesday with the strongest gusts on Monday approaching 45 mph. This combined with daytime highs 5 to 15F above normal will lead to elevated and near-critical fire weather conditions mainly for portions of the eastern Panhandle where lowest humidity and strongest winds see the greatest overlap. Ridge breakdown begins sometime Wednesday/Thursday and this may lead to a reprieve from the heat. To what extent remains unclear.
