...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL ELKO COUNTY THROUGH 530
PM PDT...

At 453 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 24
miles southwest of Charleston, moving north at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Heavy rainfall along with gusty winds could knock down tree 
         limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage 
         to vegetation is possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of central Elko
County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
