Issued at 316 AM EDT Sun Aug 23 2026 Light winds, clear skies, and recent precip over eastern areas has allowed for river valley fog to develop. This fog will burn off by mid-morning. High pressure at the surface and northwesterly flow aloft will be the main features over the region through Tuesday. This will bring cooler temperatures and drier conditions. Looking to see lows each morning in the upper 50s and low 60s and highs in the low-to-mid 80s. Dew points will remain in the mid 50s through most of the day, which will allow for very comfortable conditions. Guidance has trended drier through this short term, keeping the warm front to the southwest of the region. && .LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/... Issued at 316 AM EDT Sun Aug 23 2026 High pressure will move off to the east and the warm front will push northeast into central Kentucky on Wednesday. This will bring better moisture to broad troughing aloft. Isolated to scattered showers and storms will be possible Wednesday afternoon and evening. Additionally, temperatures look to return to normal in the upper 80s for Wednesday. On Thursday, an amplifying trough will move through the Ohio Valley and bring a cold front with it. This front will bring another chance for showers and storms on Thursday and into Friday. At this time, forecast soundings show weak shear and ample instability. So there is a possibility that a few storms become strong. Though, severe weather is not expected at this time. Behind the cold front, drier air is expected to build into the region. Temperatures will likely stay around normal in the upper 80s for highs through the weekend. && .AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z MONDAY/... Issued at 627 AM EDT Sun Aug 23 2026 Valley fog will dissipate by mid-morning. Northwest winds will pick up by mid-morning around 6kts and then gust up to 19kts in the afternoon.
