For today, elevated to brief critical fire weather conditions will be focused across the LA/Ventura county mountains, Santa Clarita Valley, northern San Fernando Valley, and eastern Ventura valleys where northeast wind gusts of 25 to 40 mph will be common, except isolated gusts 40 to 50 mph across the LA county interior mountains. These winds will overlap with humidities between 8 and 15 percent. Winds will rapidly diminish by late afternoon, with an onshore wind reversal across coastal and coastal valley areas. By late tonight and Tuesday, there will be another uptick in offshore winds, but gusts will mostly be in the 20 to 35 mph range across the same wind prone areas. Warmer and continued very dry conditions will continue to bring elevated to brief critical fire weather conditions on Tuesday. As a result, there will continue to be an elevated risk of fast moving grass and shrub fire activity today into Tuesday. Warm and dry conditions will persist across interior sections the remainder of the week.
