Fire weather conditions will remain low thanks to recent rainfall along with low ERCs across the region. Hot temperatures will continue this afternoon through the weekend with highs in the upper 90s to lower triple digits while southerly winds remain light to moderately breezy around 10 to 20 mph. As we heat up through the afternoon expect minimum RH values to drop to the lower 20th percentile before recovering through the late evening and overnight period to around 60 percent while lows range from the 60s to upper 70s. A few isolated to scattered storms will be possible today across the far southwestern Texas Panhandle and then again on Saturday increasing coverage into the northern South Plains. The severe weather threat is low, although a few strong gusts up to 55 mph cannot be ruled out along with frequent lightning.
