...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL CARTERET COUNTY THROUGH
315 PM EDT...

At 227 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Open Grounds Farm, or 11 miles north of Harkers
Island, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Cedar Island, North River, Sealevel, Atlantic, Davis, Williston,
Otway, Open Grounds Farm, Stacy, Bettie, and Cedar Island Ferry
Terminal.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
