...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL CARTERET COUNTY
THROUGH 715 PM EDT...

At 618 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Straits, or near Harkers Island, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Morehead City, Harkers Island, North River, Marshallberg, Davis,
Straits, Smyrna, Otway, Williston, Bettie, Michael J Smith Airport,
Oceana Pier, Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Rachel Carson Estuarine
Reserve, Fort Macon State Park, and Gloucester.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
