The areas affected include... Nearshore waters from Sheboygan WI to Port Washington WI... Lake Michigan from Sheboygan WI to North Port Light WI 5 nm off shore to mid lake... At 1250 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated cluster of thunderstorms, capable of producing winds up to around 30 knots and funnel clouds. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Cleveland to near Sheboygan to near Oostburg, moving east at 15 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds up to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass as it could pose a serious hazard for boaters. Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions they can briefly touch down and become a waterspouts, producing wind gusts over 40 knots. A special marine warning may eventually be required when these storms push over the nearshore waters.
