A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...
  Grand Marais to Whitefish Point MI...
  Lake Superior from Grand Marais MI to Whitefish Point MI 5NM off 
  shore to the US/Canadian border...

At 431 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable 
of producing gusty, erratic winds and small hail. These 
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 13 nm 
northwest of Muskallonge State Park to 10 nm northeast of Whitefish 
Point, moving northeast at 20 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds, locally higher waves, and lightning 
strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these 
storms pass.

Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
