The areas affected include...

  Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 60 NM...
  New York Harbor...
  Long Island South Shore Bays...

At 648 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from near Captain Harbor to near Sea
Girt Reef, moving northeast at 30 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Jones Beach, South Oyster Bay, Island Park, Barnum Island, Entrance
to New York Harbor, Rockaway Inlet, Middle Bay, Sandy Hook Bay, East
Bay, and Jamaica Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
