* Special Marine Warning for...
  
  Fire Island Inlet to Moriches Inlet NY out 60 NM...
  Long Island South Shore Bays...

* Until 915 AM EDT.
          
* At 825 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
  waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Great
  South Bay to near Buoy 44025, moving northeast at 20 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Great South Bay, Moriches Bay, and Moriches Inlet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

These thunderstorms may produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can
easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe
harbor immediately. If caught on the open water stay below deck if
possible.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or the National Weather
Service.
