...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN WAYNE...SAMPSON...
SOUTHEASTERN HARNETT...CUMBERLAND AND SOUTHEASTERN JOHNSTON COUNTIES
THROUGH 630 PM EDT...

At 527 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Fort Bragg to 10 miles northwest of Clinton.
Movement was southeast at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and heavy rainfall.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Clinton, Mount Olive, Fort Bragg, Dunn,
Benson, Walnut Creek, Godwin, and Pope AFB.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 79 and 41.
 Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 330 and 359.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
