...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WAKE AND NORTHWESTERN JOHNSTON
COUNTIES THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 605 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Fuquay-Varina, or 8 miles south of Cary, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Clayton, RDU International,
Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, and Knightdale.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 285 and 314.
 Interstate 440 between Mile Markers 1 and 16.
 Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 6 and 17, and between Mile
Markers 21 and 24.
 US 1 between Mile Markers 88 and 101.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
