Showers and thunderstorms occurred in the northern Concho Valley and Big Country overnight. More extensive showers and storms are expected this afternoon into tonight with the approach, arrival and passage of a strong cold front. Rainfall will be moderate to heavy. Much of west central Texas (generally northwest of a Brownwood to Junction line will be affected, while areas to the southeast should have isolated to scattered coverage of showers and storms. After passage of this front, a few showers may linger in southern parts of the area into Friday morning. Behind this cold front, temperatures will be much cooler Friday and Saturday, and the area is expected to have gusty north winds on Friday.
