FNUS55 KTFX 220802 FWFTFX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North-Central Montana National Weather Service Great Falls MT 202 AM MDT Sat Aug 22 2026 .DISCUSSION... There will be a couple of waves of showers and thunderstorms that move in a southwest to northeast fashion today. Localized gusty winds up to around 40 mph and isolated lightning will be the primary hazards for the morning activity. A stronger brand of convection moves in this afternoon and evening, some storms will contain strong, erratic winds, hail, and downpours capable of localized flooding of burn scars, especially for the southern zones. A surface front will bring gusty westerly winds and elevated fire weather conditions on Sunday. There will also be a few stronger widely scattered showers and thunderstorms, most numerous for locations east of I15.
