Dry weather is then expected this afternoon through the rest of the week into early next week. Colder air will push into the area today and tonight. Northwest winds will increase this morning to 45 to 55 mph across a large portions of the western South Dakota plains. Winds will persist through this evening and possibly into the late night hours before decreasing. These winds will result in a high to very high Grassland Fire Danger this afternoon. Near seasonal temperatures are expected today and Friday. On Saturday, warmer temperatures in the 70s, dry air, and perhaps breezy conditions will lead to elevated fire weather conditions.
