A weak and baggy trough remains across the Western US today which will keep temperatures on the cooler side of normal with some lingering northerly breezes through the day. Heights will gradually rise through the remainder of the week allowing for a gradual warming trend, with afternoon highs returning to near normal Wednesday, and climbing above normal by the weekend. Aside from temperatures, dry conditions are expected through the weekend. Looking ahead, a weak low pressure center may develop across the eastern Pacific early next week which may bring an increase in cloud cover and some very low chances for showers to the higher terrain of northwest Arizona. && .AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 12Z Forecast Package...Gusty northeast winds will pick up through the morning today, with gust speeds between 20 and 25 kts. Late-afternoon and evening, gusts will diminish, with directional variability between 330 and 020 through sunset. After sunset, breezy northwest winds will persist overnight with speeds between 7 and 10 kts. No operationally significant cloud cover. For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast California...For the 12Z Forecast Package...Gusty northeast winds will pick up through the morning for the Las Vegas Valley with gusts around 25 kts. Gusts will decrease late-afternoon, with breezy northwesterly winds taking over after sunset. Light northwesterly winds prevail for KBIH. Light and diurnal winds expected for KDAG. Gusty north winds expected for KIFP and KEED with gust speeds peaking between 30 and 35 kts.
