FPBA31 MYNN 072135 072135 MYNNYM BAHAMAS PUBLIC FORECAST BAHAMAS PUBLIC FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND THE NEXT SIX (6) DAYS, ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AT 6:00 P.M. EDT, Tuesday, July 7, 2026. THE NEXT SCHEDULED FORECAST WILL BE ISSUED AT 6:00 A.M. EDT TOMORROW. WARNING IN EFFECT: A Near Gale Warning (28-33 knots) is in effect for waters south of Inagua. Near gale wind gusts are possible across the watch area tonight through Wednesday. For additional marine information, please view our Marine Forecast on our website, met.gov.bs. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the Northern Bahamas. Due to high temperatures in the mid 90’s and UV heat indices in the triple digits (very high to extreme range) Residents and visitors are advised to remain hydrated, wear protective clothing and sunscreen and avoid prolonged sun exposure during peak sunshine hours of 11am to 4pm. A Dust Advisory is NOW in effect for the Northwest, Central and Southeast Bahamas, as well as the Turks & Caicos Islands. Residents, especially those with respiratory conditions, should take the necessary precautions to safeguard their health. GENERAL SITUATION: Broad ridging and Saharan dust will keep conditions mostly stable through Wednesday, limiting shower chances across most of the island chain. However by Wednesday evening through overnight hours, shower and isolated thunderstorm chances are expected to increase across the Southeast Bahamas, as a tropical wave moves near the area. Moderate to fresh winds will continue across most areas, with fresh to strong breezes and near-gale gusts possible across the Southeastern islands. Outlook: On Thursday, another tropical wave will approach the area, resulting in some unsettled weather and increasing the chances for severe weather conditions across The Bahamas into Friday. In the wake of this feature, high pressure is expected to build across the islands again by weekend. SPECIAL WEATHER NOTES: Rip Currents: Swimmers and beachgoers in the Southeast Bahamas should avoid entering waters, due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf. Meanwhile a moderate risk is in effect for waters in the Central Bahamas. Beachgoers are urged to exercise caution when entering the water.
